Smart Meters Single Phase API WiFi TCP/IP Modbus ## Overview Coming soon. The PC4711 Open API models are not shipping yet — availability is confirmed with your sales contact. The specifications below describe the released design, so the page can be used for planning and comparison. PC4711-W (UniClip Open) is the Wi-Fi member of the Open API range: a single-phase meter that reports to your infrastructure rather than a vendor cloud, over HTTP, MQTT and Modbus TCP, with no app and no cloud account. Two things change compared with the Tuya models: the data path, with nothing between the meter and your server, and the reporting interval, which is a parameter of your integration rather than a platform decision - on top of a 50 ms data refresh. If the platform side is a wired bus, take PC4711-W-485 instead. ### PC4711-W Platform and Integration Notes The reporting interval is yours to set , in your integration, on top of a 50 ms data refresh — no platform decides it for you. Up to two open-type CTs, 20 A to 300 A , clipped around the existing conductors without rewiring. Voltage is measured to ±1%, current to ±1% at rated and ±2% at low current. Full remote management. OTA firmware, CT configuration, data erase and remote reboot are all reachable over the network. Bidirectional metering. Consumption and solar production on the same single-phase circuit are both recorded. ### PC4711-W Limits and What to Specify Instead - **RS485 / Modbus RTU** — not fitted. The PC4711-W-485 adds the serial bus and keeps the Wi-Fi path. - **Three-phase supplies** — the Open API equivalents are the PC4713-W and PC4713-W-485; a 3P3W or delta service needs the Tuya-series PC4713-W-E-TY/3W. - **Relay output** — no model in the Open API range carries a dry contact. - **The Tuya App and Tuya Cloud history** — this meter reports to your infrastructure instead. ## Specifications | Accuracy | ±1% (Voltmeters) | | --- | --- | | Ammeter Accuracy | 80A CT: ±1% (1-80A), ±2% (0-1A); 120A CT: ±1% (2-120A), ±2% (0-2A); 200A CT: ±1% (2-200A), ±2% (0-2A); 300A CT: ±1% (6-300A), ±2% (2-6A), ±5% (0-2A) | | Voltage | 90~277 Vac 50/60Hz | | Current | 20A~300A (CT dependent) | | Frequency | 50/60Hz | | Power Supply | ## Key Benefits #### Your Data Stays Yours HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP straight to your own cloud or local server, with no third-party cloud in the path. #### No App and No Account The meter serves its own configuration page over its hotspot — nothing to install on a customer phone. #### Four-Quadrant With Demand Switchable RMS / PQS modes plus current and maximum demand, for import, export and reactive analysis. #### Minute-Level Offline Storage Buffered locally at minute intervals and re-reported after a reconnect, so a dropout does not become a hole in the dataset. ## Ideal For Common deployment scenarios where Single-Phase WiFi Open API Smart Energy Meter delivers the most value. #### Single-Phase Solar and Storage Reporting into an operator own platform over HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP. #### Tenant Billing on Own Infrastructure Data stays on the customer systems rather than a third-party cloud. #### Home Assistant and Self-Hosted Dashboards The meter is configured in a browser and feeds a local system directly. #### Anti-Backflow on a Single Phase 50 ms data refresh and a reporting interval set by the integration. #### EV Charging Submetering Four-quadrant measurement with current and maximum demand. #### Distributor and OEM Programmes Neutral standard units, with branding and packaging available. ## Frequently Asked Questions Does it need a cloud account or a vendor app? No. The 471 series Open API models have no vendor app — the meter serves its own configuration page over its hotspot, and reports to your own server. Other MQTT models in the range do ship with a configuration app. Can it send data to my own server instead of a vendor cloud? Yes. It publishes over HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP straight to your own cloud or local server. No account is created and no third-party cloud is in the path. How is the reporting interval set? In your integration, through the report_interval setting in device.measure.config — range 0 to 3600 seconds, default 10/600. Set it to 1 for one-second reporting. Unlike the Tuya models, no platform decides this for you. When should I take the -485 version instead? When the platform side is a wired bus. This model is Wi-Fi only; the PC4711-W-485 adds an RS485 port carrying Modbus RTU. What happens if the network drops? Data is buffered locally at minute level and automatically re-reported once the connection returns, so an outage does not become a hole in the dataset. Can the meters be pre-configured to our broker before shipping? For project orders, yes — including a preset broker address and individual credentials per device. Confirm the details with your sales contact before the order is placed. Which protocol documents do you provide? The MQTT API with the data point table, the configuration API, the device certificate API, a protocol overview, MQTT topic definitions, the TCP communication mechanism and the device model mapping table — provided for project customers, under NDA where a document is not public. My site could use either a single-phase or a three-phase meter — how do I choose the family? By the service, not the feature list. PC4711 is single-phase and PC4713 is three-phase; the protocol set, accuracy class and CT logic are the same across the two. The other difference is CT range: 20 to 300 A on the 4711, 80 to 750 A on the 4713. Can it be re-flashed to the Tuya version later? No. Open API and Tuya are different hardware, not firmware variants. Is the link encrypted, and does it support client certificates? Yes — TLS/SSL on MQTT with mutual (mTLS) certificate authentication, not just server-side verification. Mutual authentication activates when both the client certificate and the client private key are present. Certificates are uploaded in chunks through the link.mqtt.security.certificate interface, and the device can also pull them from your own server for rotation. Note the boundary: encryption covers MQTT and the meters own HTTPS service — Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU over RS485 are not encrypted. ## PC4711 Series — choose the right variant | PC4711-W — this page | WiFi + open protocol (HTTP / MQTT / Modbus TCP) | | --- | --- | | [PC4711-W-TY](/products/pc4711-w-ty/) | WiFi + Tuya Cloud | | [PC4711-W-TY/R](/products/pc4711-w-ty-r/) | + dry-contact relay (remote on/off) | | [PC4711-W-E-TY](/products/pc4711-w-e-ty/) | + wired Ethernet 10/100 | | [PC4711-W-E-TY/R](/products/pc4711-w-e-ty-r/) | + Ethernet + dry-contact relay | | [PC4711-W-TY/3CT](/products/pc4711-w-ty-3ct/) | + 3 CT channels (three single-phase circuits) | | [PC4711-W-485](/products/pc4711-w-485/) | + RS485 Modbus RTU (BMS / SCADA) | Not sure which variant fits your project?
