PC4713 single-phase wiring for three separate loads

PC4713-W, PC4713-W-485 (and the -TY / -E-TY variants)

One phase and a neutral feed three separate branch circuits: each live conductor gets its own CT, so one meter reports three loads instead of one.

Isolate the supply before touching any conductor. Wire colours in the clip are the demo panel's, not a requirement.

Step by step

  1. 1 Isolate the branch breakers and prove the conductors dead.
  2. 2 Decide which three branch circuits you are metering, then clip CT1, CT2 and CT3 on their live conductors.
  3. 3 Land the feed: the phase conductor to A and the neutral to N.
  4. 4 Land CT1 on IA+ / IA-, CT2 on IB+ / IB- and CT3 on IC+ / IC-.
  5. 5 Restore power and check that all three channels read a sensible current with the loads running.

Terminal reference

Power block N/C/B/A
A = the metered phase, N = neutral. B and C stay unused in this mode.
CT block IA / IB / IC
One pair per branch circuit, in the same order as the CTs on the conductors.

Before you start

  • All three CTs must be on conductors of the same phase for this mode.
  • Current direction matters: keep every CT arrow pointing towards the load.
  • Do not daisy-chain CT secondaries together; each pair lands on its own terminals.

Common mistakes

  • Putting two CTs on the same conductor: two channels show identical current.
  • Mixing live and neutral conductors across the three CTs: the readings no longer add up.
