PC4711-W UniClip Open single-phase meter in grey DIN-rail housing with two open-type CT clamps

PC4711-W

Single-Phase WiFi Open API Smart Energy Meter

UniClip Open on WiFi only: single-phase metering straight to your own cloud over HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP, with no app and no vendor cloud.

Smart Meters MQTT WiFi MQTT Open Local API

Overview

PC4711-W (UniClip Open) is the Wi-Fi member of the Open API range: a single-phase meter that reports to your infrastructure rather than a vendor cloud, over HTTP, MQTT and Modbus TCP, with no app and no cloud account.

Two things change compared with the Tuya models: the data path, with nothing between the meter and your server, and the reporting interval, which is a parameter of your integration rather than a platform decision - on top of a 50 ms data refresh. If the platform side is a wired bus, take PC4711-W-485 instead.

PC4711-W Platform and Integration Notes

The reporting interval is yours to set, in your integration, on top of a 50 ms data refresh — no platform decides it for you.

Up to two open-type CTs, 80 A to 300 A, clipped around the existing conductors without rewiring. Voltage is measured to ±1%, current to ±1% at rated and ±2% at low current.

Full remote management. OTA firmware, CT configuration, data erase and remote reboot are all reachable over the network.

Bidirectional metering. Consumption and solar production on the same single-phase circuit are both recorded.

PC4711-W Limits and What to Specify Instead

  • RS485 / Modbus RTU — not fitted. The PC4711-W-485 adds the serial bus and keeps the Wi-Fi path.
  • Three-phase supplies — the Open API equivalents are the PC4713-W and PC4713-W-485; a 3P3W or delta service needs the Tuya-series PC4713-W-E-TY/3W.
  • Relay output — no model in the Open API range carries a dry contact.
  • The Tuya App and Tuya Cloud history — this meter reports to your infrastructure instead.

Key Benefits

Your Data Stays Yours

HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP straight to your own cloud or local server, with no third-party cloud in the path.

No App and No Account

The meter serves its own configuration page over its hotspot — nothing to install on a customer phone.

Four-Quadrant With Demand

Switchable RMS / PQS modes plus current and maximum demand, for import, export and reactive analysis.

Minute-Level Offline Storage

Buffered locally at minute intervals and re-reported after a reconnect, so a dropout does not become a hole in the dataset.

Ideal For

Common deployment scenarios where Single-Phase WiFi Open API Smart Energy Meter delivers the most value.

Single-Phase Solar and Storage

Reporting into an operator own platform over HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP.

Tenant Billing on Own Infrastructure

Data stays on the customer systems rather than a third-party cloud.

Home Assistant and Self-Hosted Dashboards

The meter is configured in a browser and feeds a local system directly.

Anti-Backflow on a Single Phase

50 ms data refresh and a reporting interval set by the integration.

EV Charging Submetering

Four-quadrant measurement with current and maximum demand.

Distributor and OEM Programmes

Neutral standard units, with branding and packaging available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the PC4711-W need a cloud account or an app?
Neither. It reports to your own cloud or local server over HTTP, MQTT or Modbus TCP, and it is configured from a browser page served by the device itself.
How is the reporting interval decided?
In your integration, not by a platform. The meter refreshes data every 50 ms and you choose how often your system collects it.
When should I take the -485 version instead?
When the platform side is a wired bus. This model is Wi-Fi only; the PC4711-W-485 adds an RS485 port carrying Modbus RTU with a maximum 50 ms response.
What CT options are available?
Two open-type CT clamps, 80 A to 300 A, with inner diameters of 10, 16, 20 or 24 mm.
What happens if the network drops?
Data is buffered locally at minute level and automatically re-reported once the connection returns.
